What information should you share when selecting a steel wire rope?
The right quote starts with the right technical details. Learn what matters beyond diameter.

Internal clearance and body shape must suit the parts being connected. Bow and D shapes offer different geometries. A wider body does not automatically make a shackle suitable for every arrangement.
Screw-pin and bolt-type options have different application requirements. Installation duration, movement conditions and system instructions must be considered together. Do not create a connection outside the manufacturer’s approved scope.
Check the working load limit, product identification and manufacturer details. Permitted side loading and other arrangements are specific to the product. A table from one manufacturer must not be applied to a different shackle.
Provide the load and loading direction, pin diameter, internal width, material and documentation requirements. A dimensioned drawing or photograph helps matching. Final selection must follow the current manufacturer instructions for the relevant model.
This guide provides general information. Product-specific selection, use and inspection must follow current manufacturer documentation and assessment by qualified personnel.
