What information should you share when selecting a steel wire rope?
The right quote starts with the right technical details. Learn what matters beyond diameter.
Read the guide ↗WLL and LC labels describe different things. Make the intended application clear in your enquiry.
Lifting supports and moves a suspended load. Load securing aims to restrict movement during transport. Similar-looking straps or chains may have been designed for different purposes.
WLL means working load limit; LC means lashing capacity. These values are not interchangeable. The label must identify the product’s application scope and relevant manufacturer information.
Hooks, links, chains, straps and attachment points must be assessed together. The capacity of one component is not the capacity of the whole system. A weak or incompatible connection can affect the entire assembly.
State whether your requirement is for lifting, securing or pulling. Include the load, connection points and an operation drawing. Suitability must be checked against current manufacturer documentation and a qualified assessment.
This guide provides general information. Product-specific selection, use and inspection must follow current manufacturer documentation and assessment by qualified personnel.
